Hello sisthren and brethren, this weekend forth I pray to God that He will cause His face to shine upon you. May it be so bright that in the midst of the storm, cloud, and all the darkness there may be in your life it's gonna be the one and only thing you will see and of course focus on. Well, our food for the weekend can be found in Psalm 118:24 - This is the day the LORD has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it (NIV). I've heard this Word and sung the song since I was a li'l kid (not that I'm so old now though). Anyways, something very deep struck me about this Word today whilst I was studying it and that's what I want to share with you. Do you remember the day you said to yourself: "Today is (going to be) a BAD DAY"? Yeah, the very day that you refused to see the goodness of God and of His beloved son, Jesus Christ your Lord. Or let's just say, for the sake of argument, that you haven't said that before. Can we then consider your best friend, if you may? Did you really, and I mean really, pay attention to her/his response yesterday when you said good morning? Uh-huh,... and I bet you don't even remember what this person's response was. What she/he said was "what is good about the/this morning?" We are so used to people giving us the same answer or response (like o I'm fine, good morning, great, I'm alright etc) that sometimes we fail to realize it when they change the gears because our ears have already received the response WE want to hear even before we ask.
Beloved, there is nothing new under the sun (Eccl 1:9), and the word of God is truly Yea and Amen. No matter what is going on in your life He is still who He says He is - the "I Am that I Am!", so be cheerful in all things. Romans 8:38-39 makes us understand that nothing can separate us from the love of God, not even a day that seem to be gloomy and cloudy. Besides all things work together for good.... The fact that we are still here alone is reason enough to be thankful and appreciative of what we have, and also be confident of what life holds for us. This is something a friend said that I thought was quite profound: "God has been faithful to us throughout the course of this year; we are almost 8 months through and we are still alive and strong to fulfill our dreams and aspirations. He deserves to be praised. Thank You God".
Remember that, "in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us". Amen!
This is your weekly drop of... (for the weekend of 8/13/10). God bless you.
Love, Steps 'K'
